The session will comprise, but is not restricted to, empirical and theoretical contributions on the role, effect and impact of ICTs on economic growth, employment and productivity viewed from an economic perspective. ICTs as a 'general purpose technology' are seen as key to our understanding of the New Knowledge-Based Economies. How those ICTs impact upon and help explain differential economic performance, is the main focus of this session.
