Discrimination of good MT feedback

I am currently working on the field of automatic machine translation; particularly on feedback filtering. In brief, some translators allow the user for writing feedback after getting a requested translation (i.e. a better translation). The idea is filtering good instances of feedback that could be used to improve the translation engine. This work is carried out in the framework of the FAUST project: Feedback Analysis for User adaptive Statistical Translation, FP7-ICT-2009-4.

Text Re-Use Detection

My PhD research approached the problem of text re-use and plagiarism detection; paying special attention to cross-language re-use. The main contributions of this research have been:

  • CL-ASA. A model for cross-language similarity assessment and its application to plagiarism detection.
  • P4P. An effort to build a bridge between plagiarism detection and paraphrases analysis.

During such period I cooperated in the organisation of international challenges on mono- and cross-language text re-use detection, namely PAN@CLEF and PAN@FIRE.

Multilingualism in Wikipedia

Partially derived from my PhD research, I am interested in both analysing and exploiting the multilingual properties of Wikipedia. Unfortunatelly this research has been halted for the last few months, but should be approached in short.
