Assessment
There are two ways to pass this course: either without taking the final exam or by taking it. The final grade is computed differently depending on the option chosen.
Without taking the final exam, the grade of the course is the one given by the continuous assessment
C =40\%\,P_1 + 40\%\,P_2 + 20\%\,E\ , where
- E is the grade (0\leq E\leq 10) of your presentations at the blackboard. For each problem set, every student is randomly assigned one exercise to solve and present on the blackboard. The grade E takes all presentations into account.
- P_1 is the grade (0\leq P_1\leq 10) of Midterm 1
- P_2 is the grade (0\leq P_2\leq 10) of Midterm 2
Taking the final exam, the grade of the course is
\max\left(F,\ 50\%\, F + 50\%\,C\right). where
- F is the grade (0\leq F\leq 10) of the final exam.
Students that do not take any exam (Midterm 1, Midterm 2 and Final Exam) get an NP grade (“No Presentat”).
