Cooke elected Chair of the IEEE Computer Society Technical Committee

Daniel E. Cooke, Chief Computer Scientist of NASA Pan American Center for Earth and Environmental Studies (PACES), El Paso, Texas, and Chairman of the Department of Computer Science of the University of Texas at El Paso, has been elected Chair of the Technical Committee on Computer Languages of the IEEE Computer Society.

IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers) is a professional organization of Electrical and Computer Engineers and Computer Scientists.

Dr. Cooke's main research achievements include the development of a new (bag) paradigm for high-level programming languages; in particular, he and his students has applies this paradigm to interval computations; see, e.g.:
