Acknowledgements.

    First of all we have to thank people who has been involved in the work of the project in some way. Thanks then to:

      Manuel Vivó for the implementation of the automatic code generation mechanism;

      Ignacio Ruiz for implementing the first version of the Generic Input Subsystem and the utility processes "demandes" and "entrades"; and

      Daniel Sánchez-Crespo who is presently doing the implementation of the mechanisms involved in the multiplatform and the load balancing features.

    Secondly we want to thank also those people that have been beta-testers for the initial versions of the project because they are helping us a lot in finding and fixing errors by developing big applications over ATLAS. They are: David Corbalán, Àlex Sánchez, Eva Monclús, Óscar Soriano and Óscar Sanjuan.

    We are also grateful to all people working on the Computer Graphics Section (SIG) for their support and must give acknowledgements as well to the group of Computer Graphics of the University of Girona (IMA Department) and to the Institute of Robotics and Industrial Informatics (UPC) for using ATLAS in some of their projects.

    Funding: This research have been supported by grants TIC-92-0605 and TIC-95-0630-C05-01 of the CICYT (spanish official research founding distributor).

    Software used: The ACE-wrappers package for the communications mechanism, PCCTS compiler constructor tools and most of the GNU utilities have been used in the development of ATLAS.
