Marc Alier is an Associate Professor at UPC School of Informatics, where he teaches about Information Systems, Ethics and History of Informatics, and innovation.
He holds an engineering Master's degree in Computer Science and a Ph.D. in Sustainability both from the Polytechnical University of Catalonia (UPC).
Since 1996 has worked in research and development on e-learning. He has participated in the development of several LMS and authoring tools and interoperability standards. Since early 2004, he has been a developer of the http://moodle.org community contributing with third-party modules and core functionalities such as the Wiki module, the design of the Webservices system, and the IMS LTI consumer.
Has published more than 100 research papers on conferences and journals.
