Bio

I'm a PhD student in the Software Department of the Technical University of Catalonia. I am a member of the Natural Language Processing Research Group. My advisors are Cristina España-Bonet and Lluis Màrquez.

My academic background started between 2004-2010 with my degrees of Mathematics and in Computer Science at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. After that, I changed Madrid for Barcelona and started my specialization in Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning and other Artificial Intelligence areas by studying the Master Degree in Artificial Intelligence at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya.

I am interested in Machine Translation (MT) issues. In particular, I am focused on context aware Statistical Machine Translation (SMT), SMT at document level or how to apply to MT new machine learning techniques (neural networks, deep learning, word embeddings, etc.) that can introduce some interesting and useful semantic information. I am also concerned about the MT automatic evaluation and the necessity to extend the existing evaluation metrics to make them able to help when evaluating context aware MT systems.
